ACTION

After discussions with MPA, the following action was taken by JKC.

  1. Agron-Olshina. Q1 reduce to 13 to be consistent with others.
  2. Briggner. No change.
  3. Bursik. Q6 reduced to 8.5 (in between MPA and PB). This answer illustrated some of the problems regarding the open-ended nature of Q6.
  4. DeMeyer. Q6 reduced to 9 as little attempt to order reasons.
  5. Rowan. No change to PB's marks since total mark was the same as for MPA.
  6. Yuan. No change. I have add additional comment re "cutting & pasting" course material.

Student marked work adjusted accordingly (with revised comments where appropriate).

It was already suggested by MPA previously (see 2000/1) that this assignment could be improved. MPA has now produced an alternative: maybe the external examiner could comment on this one at the examiners' meeting since PB still keen on original question.
