ACTION

After discussions with MPA, the following action was taken by JKC.

  1. Agron-Olshina. No change - since overall mark unchanged
  2. Briggner. Q2. English error accepted so leave as 5. Q4 leave as 5 marks. Q5. JKC's comments and marks here to stand.
  3. Bursik. No change - since overall mark unchanged
  4. DeMeyer. Q2 leave as 2 since incorrect answer. Q3 leave as 4 since only range missing. Q5 leave as 8 so as to be consistent with other students' marks.
  5. Yuan. Q4 leave as 4

Student marked work adjusted accordingly (with revised comments where appropriate).
[DONE by JKC 18/3/02]

A suggestion was made (and accepted) that wording for question 1 should request that workings being shown for the calculation. Question 5 was also discussed at some length. In particular, the wording should ask for the location of the symmetry element (when appropriate) and that 2 marks could be allocated per symmetry element with 1 mark for the symmetry element and 1 mark for the location/reason.
