Hanawalt Search-Match Tables

Shown at the top of each section is the range of d-spacing values corresponding to the values seen in column 1. Note that the typical error limits are shown for the purpose of search-match based on typical errors in d-spacing values in 1976 (for data measured on properly aligned PXRD instruments). The ± error values vary with the size of the d-spacing values being much bigger for the larger values.

The three columns on the left in bold are the Hanawalt Index (i.e. d-spacing values for the three most intense peaks) for each entry in the database. To aid manual searches, each value has a sub-script which is the relative intensity (in %) divided by 10 with x indicating 100%.

Each entry in the search manual is shown with the chemical formula of the substance measured as shown below:

The final column is the database entry number. Reference is only made to the database once a possible match is found.
