Hi Jeremy,
Looking through the project and the exam for your candidate,
I find both have been fairly and correctly marked. For the project, I
can't see the breakdown for the marks given to sections (b), (c-i) or
(c-ii), but the totals look OK. The mistake in the cif file with the
symmetry operators can be explained by her having taken the P112(1)/a
setting of "P2(1)/a" and then having "-y" instead of "y" in operator
4. I guess she copied out of the tables the wrong setting
incorrectly. The rest of the cif file looks largely OK (give or take
some discrepancies with tables), so I could imagine a mark of 3.5
instead of 3.0.
If you work to full precision, you then have as an overall mark
(115/135)*.2 + 0.555 *.3 + (109/150)*.5 = 0.7002
Would that be enough?
Andy
