After discussions with MPA, the following actions were taken by JKC.

  1. Farnworth. Q2. Increase by 1 mark to 5. Q3. Increase to 5 marks, but add comment re screw axes. Q4. Increase marks to 4. Q5. Increase by 1 mark.
  2. Hanif. Q2. Deduct 1 mark. Q6. Increase by 1 mark.
  3. Rajamani. Q2. Leave as 3 marks.
  4. Seidl. Q4. Leave as 3 marks. Q6. Increase by 1 mark.
  5. Whittock. Q2. Leave as 3 marks. Q3. Deduct 1 mark.

Student marked work adjusted accordingly (with revised comments where appropriate).

Question 2 could be improved, possible by making a longer question that includes the subject of crystal class. A problem was highlighted with question 6i in that it is not specific enough. Question to be improved for next year. Two of the students did this assignment particularly badly.
