Interests
Computers -built my first PC in 1991 and have constantly upgraded the system with components such as memory, hard disks and processors. I completed an A level in computer studies in 1994, but have not done any computer programming since.
- Chemistry
- For the past three years I have been carrying out research on perimidinopyrrolidone dyes, which I am currently writing up in my PhD thesis.
- Health and Fitness
- Prior to starting to write up my PhD thesis I went to a Health and Fitness centre three times a week.
- Mountain biking
- I occasionally cycle along the Taff Trail cycle path from Cardiff to Tongwynlais, which includes some off road cycle tracks.
Advanced certificate in powder diffraction course
On completing the course leading to an advanced certificate in powder diffraction, I hope to achieve the following:-
- Write web pages using a HTML editor.
- Understand theory of powder diffraction, including its uses and limitations.
- Solve crystal structures of organic compounds from powder diffraction data using computer programs.
