I did send you an E-mail thanking you for the advice.  I seem to have something
working now - I had to reset all thermal parameters before the structure
refined past a sort of plateau, but it seems to be ok now.  Thanks for asking.
Now the only problem I have is trying to get decent colour .GIF pictures -
could you bear in mind that I for one have no idea (and no-one else at work I
have asked seems to know either) how to import a .BMP file and save it as a
.GIF file.  It's probably the lack of appropriate software - I'll ask our
graphic designer (yes, we have one of those) about it tomorrow (he was out for
a couple of days).

Anyway, it seems to be going ok now.
