Dear Stewart,
   I will be putting up some details as to the style of paper. It is
a traditional pen and calculator style (you will see the front cover of
the paper on the web when I put it up).
   At the moment the course is only an Advanced Certificate. In the
biological area the college has given approval for students to do
2 Advanced Certificates so as to obtain an MSc. The catch is that the
price goes up for the 2nd one considerably since the students then
register formally for an MSc in the 2nd year. The department has only
1 non-biological crystallographic course. In the longer term it may
develop a small-molecule single-crystal course similar to the powder
diffraction one. However, given the labour involved I cannot see this
happening for a couple of years yet.
