Subj: Indexing program
Dear Jeremy,
I have been using the 210 program for indexing some of my own data and the
result it came up with was surprising. It suggested a monoclinic cell when I
have evidence that it is actually orthorhombic. Two questions: in the text
you said that high symmetry trigonal or hexagonal cells often came up as
monoclinic, is the same true for orthorhombic? Secondly, the data I am using
does not include the longest d-spacing lines, from the text and the output,
I believe that the program assumes low index lines for the longest lines. Is
this correct, and if so would it account for my result?
Thanks for your help.
Stewart
PS For the unit cell refinement program, the possibility of inputting
d-spacing values directly would be nice!
