Dear Sian,
You may have to change the file extension. I used to .txt to force
the data files to be downloaded as plain text files. I tried it out
on my PC at home using Rietica (as well as with my own Rietveld code)
so will have to email you again when I get home to confirm what I did.
Will email again.
  Jeremy.
P.S. Did you have a look at the tutorial pages provided by CCP14 - I think
there should be some on Rietica. I will also get Lachlan Cranswick
who is one of the project tutors to help you as well since his role
in CCp14 makes him somewhat of an expert on using the various different
types of Rietveld program.
