Subj: Powder diffraction course.
Dear Jeremy,
Please accept my apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I have been
immensely busy here since Christmas. I am currently involved in the
drafting of a number of proposals (including a JIF bid led by Peter
Edwards) as well as trying to write my thesis and supervising a final year
project student. This is on top of the research project I am carrying out
as a full time member of Research Staff! With these demands on my time I
have not been able to fulfill the demands of the powder diffraction course,
and I am some way behind. I am probably in a position where I can attempt
the second set of tutorial questions now, but next week I have to prepare a
poster for a conference (which I will be attending the week after from
13th-19th March) although I have to spend two days away from the lab at
meetings in Rossendale and Oxford on Thursday and Friday of next week - so
I am not sure quite when I will be able to finish these questions. Peter
has suggested that I enquire about the possibility of "suspending" my
registration until next year... i.e. picking up the course again next
February, from where I started to get behind. I'm not sure if this would
be possible and I would be grateful for your advice as to where to go from
here... Peter Edwards (my supervisor) has said that if you would like to
have a chat about my situation, then he will be happy to talk to you about
it - his no. is 0121 414 3530, e-mail: p.p.edwards@bham.ac.uk.
All the best,
Neil.
