Dear Noreen,
  I am not sure what the deadline for payment is. College will (eventually)
send out paperwork that formally enrols you (paper & quill style!). As far
as I am concerned, you can start now once the copyright form is received
since you will at least then be listed as enrolled by the department.
Don't worry if college doesn't get the paperwork to you in time - that is
their problem and not yours: the administration needs to go more
electronic too (including payment etc.).
  I will sign the enrollment forms when college sends the printed copy to
me (- fortunately I get the electronic copy in advance!).
  If you have any more questions, please get back to me. One question I have:
which is your preferred email address - you had a shorter one on the form.
(I was also confused initially re your surname, but that is now sorted.)
