  I have updated one of the course pages re use of the symbol font. It is
possible that Netscape may not be configured correctly - see updated URL:

If this does not solve the problem on your particular PC regarding the
symbol font, then please get back to me. I would then need to know
more details in order to try and solve the problem. Downloading of software
is not critical at this stage, but will be required for the project work.
I just wanted to check that it would be possible at a later date.

P.S. Everyone here uses first names - it's partly because Birkbeck is one
of the London University colleges that specialises in having lots of
older part-time students. It's not unusual for students to be older than
tutors in some instances.
