Bar 3 axis

The operation of the -3 symmetry operator can be visualised as an operation composed of two individual steps (which may be carried out in any order), namely, a threefold rotation plus an inversion. Although the result may be viewed as a combination of two individual operations, the rotary-inversion symmetry operator itself is a single one-step operation as shown above.
